1. Purpose of this Policy
The Bubble is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and vulnerable adults who visit our premises. This policy outlines our safeguarding principles, procedures, and expectations for staff, volunteers, and visitors.

2. Key Principles
• Zero Tolerance – We have zero tolerance for any form of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or discrimination.
• Shared Responsibility – Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff and volunteers must take appropriate action if they have concerns.
• Prevention First – We take proactive steps to prevent harm through safe working practices and protective measures.

3. Supervision of Under-18s
• All visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
• Staff are not permitted to assume responsibility for a child or vulnerable adult without their parent, guardian, or carer present.
• We will refuse entry to unaccompanied individuals under 18.

4. Vulnerable Adults
A vulnerable adult is defined as a person aged 18 or over who may be unable to care for themselves, protect themselves from harm, or prevent exploitation. Staff must be alert to any concerns and follow reporting procedures if they suspect a vulnerable adult is at risk.

5. Protective Measures
• CCTV is in operation throughout the premises for the protection of visitors, staff, and volunteers, and for the prevention and detection of crime.
• CCTV footage is stored securely and in compliance with data protection laws (GDPR).
• All staff and volunteers are expected to behave in a professional and respectful manner at all times.

6. Responding to Concerns
If you have concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child or vulnerable adult:
1. Immediately report to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
2. Record details of the concern, including times, dates, and observations, using the safeguarding incident form.
3. Do not promise confidentiality — concerns must be shared with the DSL for action.
